5 song EP

Just finished up today with the recording of the 5 song EP. Mixing will start on the 23rd. There were some delays during the sessions. I kept being scheduled for 4 to 10 pm and there is no way I would schedule that time slot. I work in the trades, and we wake up at 5am so 10 pm is like 2am. No way. Anyways… things are sounding awesome. The sessions guitarist worked out great. He added to the songs in a way I was hoping he would. I can’t convey every aspect of a song to a musician. You must be able to take a melody and turn it into a song if you want to be a sessions musician. It’s a different class of musician. It’s being creative all the time which is very difficult to do. Looking forward to distributing the music. It will be sent out as promotional material and digital distribution.

NY City

I just wanta get out of this world and live in NY City

Where did Dess come from

I was hanging in my bedroom doing nothing. I had a copy of Rolling Stone on my nightstand. The windows to this bedroom were open. What name am I going to use for music is what I was thinking about. Or what they call stage name. I had just started writing music again after many years of hiatus. I just stopped thinking and working on songs because I developed a career and didn’t realize that you can do it in parallel to your pay rent career (song writing). Then I desperately wanted music back in my life because it can be satisfying to write a song and soul filling. It’s an accomplishment. Ok where was I… well laying in bed looking for direction a gust of wind came through the room and turned the pages of the magazine Rolling Stone. The pages blew open and a voice in my head said” this is your name. “It was an article on Lady Gaga. And the title of the article was “GODDESS,” but the word was split in two. With God above Dess. Why they did it that way IDK. When the voice said this is your name the pages stopped turning and the word Dess stood out. Dermondy is the name of a street, spelled wrong, that I grew up on in the projects in Waltham Massachusetts as a young man. I loved living there and the people I grew up with while there.
